Heat Win Highlight Of Grandview Night

BECHTELSVILLE, PA - It all started out so well.

Advancing from ninth in the first heat race Saturday night at Grandview Speedway, Mike Gular drove the S&N Racing No. 8 to a convincing victory, taking the lead midway through the 12-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series 358-Modified qualifying event.

Rolling off the feature grid 13th, Gular was involved in a lap-three incident, restarted from the rear of the field and began his march forward when the car slowed on lap 13 with an apparent bent valve in the car's powerplant.

The engine had already been pulled from the car on Sunday afternoon for repairs.

The S&N Racing No. 8 will be back in action Saturday at Grandview. Mike Gular will compete in Wednesday night's MS Race For A Cure 40-lap big-block Modified event at Bridgeport (N.J.) Speedway with the THP No. 53.
