Tough Night For Gular At Grandview |
|
BECHTELSVILLE, PA - It wasn't for lack of effort, but Saturday night's program at Grandview Speedway wasn't kind to driver Mike Gular and the S&N Racing team.
Completing engine repairs during the week, the S&N team fought fuel issues from the first time the No. 8 hit the track for hot laps.
Missing the heat race and consolation events, the team labored to change a fuel pump among other tasks and started the 30-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series 358-Modified feature from 30th position using a provisional.
Making a steady run through the field, Gular ducked to the infield on lap 21 with an overheating engine, resulting in a DNF and 25th-place finish.
"It wasn't completely fixed," Gular said. "I was afraid it didn't have fuel pressure and I didn't want to burn a piston, so I pulled in." |
